T.C.: No one could with Aventín.

With a sunny day in Olavarría started the second half of the season of the Turismo Carretera.

Diego Aventín dominated on Saturday and comfortably won in the final race of Sunday.

The podium was completed by Ernesto Bessone (Dodge) and the leader in the championship, Guillermo Ortelli (Chevrolet)

His father, Oscar Aventín is one of one of the greatest drivers in the history of T.C., two times champion in ´91 and ´92 with Ford and now he is the president of the category. His uncle, Antonio Aventín, is also a champion in 1980 with Dodge. Of course the talent runs in the blood of this family. Diego Aventín the youngest driver in T.C., with only 21 years completed another great weekend like he did in the first race of the year in Mar de Ajo. He marked the pole position on Saturday, he won in his series near followed by Bessone and in the final race he drove without mistakes the Ford number 11 to the chequered flag.

The other big hero of the journey was Patricio Di Palma. Patricio drives the Torino that made his father before died, the great L. R. Di Palma almost two years ago. Patricio qualified second giving the best result for a Torino in 20 years. On Sunday he won his series. In the final race he made an impeccable job. He ocuped the second place until the last lap when a problem in the gearbox made him lost two positions and finished fourth with tears in his eyes. Patricio and his Torino are big candidates to win the next race in Rafaela, a circuit that he really enjoy, like he says.

It is the third time in this season that Ernesto Bessone finished second. This time he made a work from less to more during the weekend. On Sunday he finished second in the series behind Aventín. For the final race the Dodge driver started third but he lost one position in the road to the first curve in hands of Fabián Acuña (Ford). After some laps of fight against Acuña, Bessone passed him in a very good job. He doesn`t seemed have the car to fight the second place with P. Di Palma so he just wait, but the problems in the Torino gave Bessone the opportunity to be in the second place one more time this year. No doubt that the victory is soon for him.

With a great technical support of the team behind him,the three times champion and leader of the championship Ortelli completed another good weekend finishing third and because his more closers rivals in the tournament finished behind him.

The winner of the last race in Río Cuarto, Marcos Di Palma (Chevrolet) finished seventh after a hard race. With this result Marcos in second in the championship.

Who couldn`t complete a good weekend was Omar Martínez. He qualified twenty-seventh. And finished twenty-two the final race. Bad result for someone that is in the fight for the championship.

Martínez had set up problems during all the weekend. The aspirations of Martínez this year to be champion seems to be limited, he has a much minor budget than Ortelli, M. Di Palma and Aventín. In spite of the situation the sub-champion of ´99, ´00 and ´01 will fight until the end

Thus was the ninth round of Turismo Carretera in Olavarría. In the championship Ortelli keep the leadership with 140.50 points, followed by Marcos Di Palma with 121.50, Martínez 120 and Aventín who after this victory is fourth with 117. The best Dodge is Bessone with 98 points.

The next race will be in August 25 in Rafael, Santa Fé.
