Clamorous day for the italian colony in Germany. Italian ace driver from Prema Powerteam, Enrico Toccacelo succeeded an extraordinary double result: pole position and win of the second heat of the German Formula 3 Championship.
Humorous Enrico declared : "I could not celebrate the Italian Formula One title better than this. Italians had to win also here in Germany."
Prema drivers were very confident before this event, Toccacelo scored a nice sixth place during first event while young rookie Philip Cloostermans finished 16th.
All the attention came for the second race of the week-end; Belgian Cloostermans being disqualified after a race clerk decision for not having seen a yellow flag while Enrico Toccacelo took his third pole in the season.
Second race start allowed Enrico to score a most beautiful overtaking of the week over the second ace of the day japanese Kaneishi.
Angelo Rosin, team manager declared: "We knew from weeks that the team effort was on the way to clinch a win in this very tough championship. Prema Powerteam is proving that it is a very professionnal eam with a never giving up fighting spirit. I feel very happy for Enrico but also for all the partners of our team who decided to give us their help for this german battle. This success is very important for us, but we are still working very hard because we believe we can win again in the next important meeting."
