MIAMI – (Oct. 14, 2015) – Motorsport.com, the world’s premier motorsports digital media platform, published its new German-targeted website, Motorsport.com – GERMANY, today to appeal to an even wider global audience.

Motosport.com – GERMANY plans to lead the region in covering all major racing series, including the Formula 1 World Championship, MotoGP, World Endurance Championship, World Rally Championship, FIA Formula E, as well as local favorites like the DTM, VLN and ADAC GT Masters, all in native German tongue.

The new German-based URL will provide comprehensive information and motorsports content while featuring up-to-the-minute news, statistics, digital images, and videos, including the weekly programs Inside Grand Prix and Inside WEC on Motorsport.tv.

“As Motorsport.com continues to expand its global footprint with 14 editions in 10 native languages, Germany was a key target for website localization,” says Motorsport.com Editor in Chief Charles Bradley. “As one of the strongest motorsports markets in Europe, Germany is a stronghold to expand our industry-leading editorial coverage and spread that message even farther for such iconic brands including Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Porsche.

“We will also ensure that the great legacy which Michael Schumacher created among German driving talent, epitomized by Sebastian Vettel, is carried through for generations to come,” Bradley added. “Via multiple digital platforms, our presence in Germany will help solidify our global business strategy as the most valued name in motorsports.”

“Motorsport.com conducted an extensive search for an acquisition partner in the region that met the standards we expect as the premier online source for motorsports content,” said Eric Gilbert, vice president of operations, Motorsport.com.

“And in the end, it was clear that our best option was to develop our own platform and recruit the best in-market talent to join our team and grow the business organically. We will target the numerous and passionate race fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and offer them something new and innovative with our next-generation platform.”

Auto Racing editor Stefan Ziegler Named Director of Motorsport.com – GERMANY to Oversee Online Content

Motorsport.com announced today that highly respected news editor Stefan Ziegler has been appointed Director of Motorsport.com – GERMANY. Ziegler’s appointment is effective immediately.

Ziegler joins Motorsport.com after seven years with German-based Motorsport-Total.com

As the leader of Motorsport.com - GERMANY, he will oversee the local editorial office operations and content policy. Ziegler will report directly to Motorsport.com Editor in Chief Charles Bradley who manages the worldwide editorial direction of the brand.

Ziegler has been a full-time journalist covering all major motor racing categories since 2008. Besides Formula One, he has specialized in World Touring Cars and DTM and has travelled extensively around the globe as a reporter and correspondent, visiting race events on five continents in the process.

His extensive media background also includes comprehensive PR and brand communication projects for Mercedes AMG Petronas F1. He has been a regular radio pundit at sportradio360.de for some years and has made appearances as a commentator for live TV at Eurosport, including the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans.

“I feel honored to join the high-profile team of Motorsport.com and I am very much looking forward to working with their truly global editorial network,” Ziegler said. “But most of all I’m excited to be spearheading Motorsport.com – GERMANY which, together with my team, I want to develop into the go-to place for German race fans. Motorsport.com has created the most technologically advanced platform I’ve seen in the industry so far. Therefore, our aim must be to match this great foundation with equally cutting-edge but also extensive coverage for our enthusiastic German-speaking audience.”
