As part of the acquisition, the company will launch Motorsport.com – SPAIN, an all-Spanish based sister motorsports website, which becomes the company’s 19th global edition and region’s largest provider of online motor sports news.

“We are excited to enter Spain’s market and help drive additional value of our brand through this acquisition,” said Gustavo A. Roche, vice president of business development, Motorsport.com.

“Motorsport.com conducted an extensive search in the region for an acquisition partner that met the standards we expect as the premier online source for motor sports content, and decided to go with a moto centered outlet given Spaniards passion for two-wheeled racing,” he added.

“In Motocuatro.com, we will benefit by bringing fully engaged motorcycle racing fans to Motorsport.com and their industry-leading editorial team, led by acclaimed MotoGP journalist Oriol Puigdemont.”

As Spain’s authority of two-wheel-centric motosports news, content and analysis, Motocuatro.com has become one of the country’s premier digital media destination for MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and World Superbike Championships as well as a dedicated resource of Grand Prix coverage.

“As one of Spain’s leading motosports website, we are honored and focused on expanding our online offerings and introducing more auto racing coverage for our readers under the Motorsport.com platform, said Germán García Casanova, Director, Motocuatro.com.

”The strength of our coverage of MotoGP and World Superbike racing, combined with the extended reach and technological expertise of Motorsport.com will further position Motorsport.com-SPAIN as the clear choice for motorsports consumers in the region.”

Motorsport.com – SPAIN will begin operations in April 2016.

Motorsport.com Appoints Motorsports Veteran Jacobo Vega Director, Motorsport.com-SPAIN

Motorsport.com today announced the appointment of Jacobo Vega as Director of Motorsport.com – SPAIN.  Vega will lead the direction of all regional content for and report directly to Motorsport.com Editor in Chief, Charles Bradley.

Vega joins Motorsport.com after a decade serving in both editorial and television roles within F1, GP2 and GP3 as commentator and reporter for the highly-respected LaSexta and Antena 3 in Spain.

“I'm delighted to start this new project and become a part of the successful Motorsport.com family,” said Vega. “We have a traditional love for motorbike racing in the country but we also have strong passionate fans of F1 and rallies. We will work very hard to offer them the best news and we are ready to begin our process to lead the motorsport information in Spain.”
