The Motorsport Club of Ottawa (MCO) cancels the Ted Powell Race Weekend & Solo I Championship Event scheduled at Calabogie Motorsports Park for 2005..

Ottawa - It is with considerable regret that the Motorsport Club of Ottawa announces the cancellation of its scheduled 2005 events at the new Calabogie Motorsports Park due to continued uncertainty surrounding the opening of the track.

The cancellation of the Ted Powell Invitational Race Weekend (Sept. 9-11), and the Solo I Championship Event (Aug. 19-21) in no way diminishes MCO's complete support for the track, nor our confidence in the opening of the facility in time for the 2006 season.

The MCO decided to take this action now in fairness to all of our members, partners, volunteers, clubs in both Ontario and Quebec regions, rather than awaiting the track's now-postponed paving date. For further information concerning Calabogie Motorsports Park visit www.calabogiemotorsportspark.com.

The MCO has already scheduled The Ted Powell Annual Race Weekend as part of the Ontario Regional Championship for July 28-30, 2006. Moreover The MCO is hoping to host a two-day, fun lapping weekend at CMP later this fall with dates to be confirmed upon final completion of the track. Information: www.mco.org.

On behalf of the Club, the Executive would like to thank all of The MCO's members, the many volunteers, our partners in Ontario Region, our friends in Quebec Region, all of the Calabogie Motorsports principals and a host of supporters for all of their time, patience and support.

The Motorsport Club of Ottawa will be racing at CMP in 2006.
