You Can Own A Piece of The Rock

Thanks to a new partnership with Michelin, construction crews are waiting in the wings to begin work on a new building at the Lime Rock Park road-racing circuit in northwestern Connecticut.

But before the "Michelin Building" can take form, a familiar landmark must fade way. "Old Faithful", the building that has marked the Lime Rock start/finish line since opening day back in April of 1957, must be dismantled.

Rather than heartlessly swinging the wrecker's ball, track president Skip Barber and General Manager Mike Rand invite the Lime Rock "faithful" to make one more pilgrimmage to say farewell and literally take home a piece of Lime Rock history, your very own remnant of the start/finish tower, where racing greats, near-greats, and even a few ingrates, have celebrated and comiserated.

Plan a visit to Lime Rock Park during one of the following time slots:

      Monday Dec. 1 - Friday Dec. 5 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
      Saturday Dec. 6 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bring an item to donate to the food pantry operated by The Owl's Kitchen in Lakeville and take home your very own piece of The Rock. Just in time for Christmas.
