Key Motorsport 11th at 2002 Air-Canada Grand-Prix.
June 8th, 2002, (Montreal) --Key Motorsport's driver ERIC JENSEN gave Key Motorsport its best finish in team history by finishing 11th in today's Formula Ford 1600 race, held in at the Air-Canada Grand-Prix. Raced under wet condition, the Formula Ford 1600 race gave a great spectacle for the thousands of brave fans still in the stands.
Starting from the ninth spot, Jensen drove a clean race and showed his driving skills under difficult wet conditions. CHRIS GREEN from Beaconsfield, QC, finished 15th after experimenting car-handling problems following an incident. Third Key Motorsport car of DENNIS S. YASAR took the 23rd spot.
Chris Guerrieri from Pickering, Ont, finished first, followed by Louis-Philippe Dumoulin and Didier Schraenen.
CHRIS GREEN commented ''I am generally satisfied with the entire weekend. It has been a disappointing race for me, I got involved in a small incident early in the race that left me with a bent suspension arm, making the car really difficult to control. However, I had a great time coming back from the 30th place up to the 15th place.
"I had a great time this week-end. A Formula Ford 1600 car is very different from Formula Atlantic, it is not as stable and powerful and it requires perfect driving" said ERIC JENSEN."The team did a great job, and I really enjoyed this Canadian Grand-Prix with Key Motorsport".
"Inexplicably, The Canadian Grand-Prix has always been difficult for Key Motorsport. Hopefully this 11th place will start years of better luck & performance" concluded team owner Steve Djelebian.
