Anderson, IN (August 15, 2001) - The Kendall Late Model Series will make their return to Anderson Speedway in the Eagle Creek Aviation 150, as part of the 2nd Annual Labor Day Weekend Extravaganza. Over the course of the four days of Labor Day weekend, 10 different divisions will compete on the historic high-banked 1/4 mile oval, with the Kendall Late Model Series being featured twice. Friday, August 31st, the WLBC Summer Series will get the weekend started with the final Friday night appearance of the year for the Ed Martin AutoGroup Modifieds, Bud Light ThunderCars, and Coors Light Legends. Practice starts at 6pm with racing at 8pm. Adult tickets are only $6.
On Saturday Night, the Hoosier Park SuperTrucks will headline the activities along with the Pit Stop Figure 8's, the NAPA Street Stocks and the return of the NASKARTS. Practice starts at 5pm with racing at 8pm. Adult tickets are $9. "Fan Appreciation Sunday" will feature the Kendall Late Model Series when they roll into town for the first ever Kendall Klash. The Kendall Klash is a special, non-points race that will split the drivers into two groups, with each group doing three sprint-type races to determine a winner in each group. The most recent series winners will make up the first group called the "SuperStars", and the remaining Kendall drivers will make up the "All-Stars".
The Kendall Klash was designed to put a little money back into the pockets of the teams on a day that would have normally been just for open practice. Plus, the fans will get treated to a different type of racing with the Kendall Late Models. Much like the Busch Clash and The Winston have become exciting special events in NASCAR, the Kendall Klash is expected to bring that same excitement to the Kendall Series as well.
Sunday will get started with open practice for all divisions competing during the weekend, then move into racing with the Kendall Late Models in the Kendall Klash, plus action in the Coors Light Legends, and Bud Light ThunderCars in the oval and figure 8. Sunday is expected to be one of the most exciting days, and fans will be able to enjoy all the action for only $5. Practice starts at 11am with racing at 2pm.
The whole Labor Day weekend comes to an exciting finale on Monday, September 3rd. The Kendall Late Models will run event number 15 in their 18-race tour when the green flag drops on the Eagle Creek Aviation 150. Joining the Kendall Late Model Series on the racing card are the National Touring Modifieds from the IN-CAR Jasper Modified tour, the Bud Light ThunderCars in oval and figure 8 action, and "open" Street Stocks. Practice starts at 11:45 am with racing at 2pm. Adult tickets are $12.
