JEFF PURNER TO HEAD NEW BUSINESS VENTURES AT ROAD ATLANTA
BRASELTON, Georgia, July 23 -- Jeff Purner has been named Manager of New Business Development at the Road Atlanta Motor Sports Center.
His new position is part of the ongoing series of changes to the operations and facilities at Road Atlanta, now in its 30th year as one of the world's top road racing circuits.
Purner will be responsible for the development of a number of new business ventures, beginning with the expansion of the Panoz Racing School and the Panoz Performance Driving School. Plans are being developed to offer driving schools on a national basis.
In addition, Purner is responsible for the development and production of the new Panoz GT-RA school cars, the GT car that is exclusive to the Panoz Racing Schools.
A key part of these new business ventures is the Panoz Performance Center, a full service wholesale and retail outlet located at Road Atlanta with performance parts featuring BBS wheels, JRZ shocks, and Michelin tires, which Purner will plan and manage. PPC customers will have the option of on-site installation of many of the specialty components.
The Road Atlanta Speed Boutique, on the track grounds, also will be supervised by Purner. The Boutique offers clothing, race wear, books, videos, and other merchandise geared to the enthusiast.
Purner will also be involved in the planning and development of future Road Atlanta projects, including a proposed karting complex.
James Selwa, Chief Operating Officer of Panoz Motor Sports, is thrilled to have Purner assisting him in the continuing growth of the Panoz Motor Sports empire. "Jeff has valuable insight to both the needs of racers and students," says Selwa. "That gives him background necessary to achieve our goals."
A native of New York, Purner began racing in his teens. He has been a Skip Barber Series Champion, a Trans-Am Rookie of the Year, and a Firehawk Endurance Champion. He has been involved with Road Atlanta's street driving and road racing schools for the past ten years, most recently as Chief Driving Instructor.
