MIAMI (October 5, 2000) - The third annual Pennzoil 400 weekend, featuring the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, will return to Homestead-Miami Speedway on its traditional date in 2001, Nov. 9-11, circuit officials announced today.

The NASCAR Busch Series will end its season in South Florida for the seventh consecutive year in the Miami 300, completing the Nov. 9-11 weekend.

While the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch Series weekend will maintain its traditional format, both Spring racing events will have new formats for 2001.

The 2001 season will open March 3-5, with an exciting weekend combining NASCAR Craftsman Truck and Grand-Am sports car racing. The sixth annual Florida Dodge Dealers 400 will be held on Sunday, March 5, while the Grand American Road Racing Association will be featured in Saturday’s Nextel 250 on the 2.21-mile road circuit.

Indy Car racing comes to Miami for the first time when the Grand Prix of Miami returns April 6-8. It will be one of the finale tune-ups for the Indy Racing Series before its flagship Indianapolis 500 on May 27.
