Juan Manuel Silva fastest at General Roca.

Juan Manuel Silva set fastest time today at General Roca qualifying for the second round of the season. He put his works Honda Racing Argentina Civil on pole for tomorrow's race, but he will have to go through a six laps heat earlier in the morning.

Team mate Guillermo Ortelli was a close second in an excellent day for the team directed by former driver Victor Rosso. Just 0.057s separated both Honda men.

The two cars of the Berta Motorsport team, that is the works pair of Focus Zetec, were third and fourth with 2001 champion Gabriel Ponce de Leon and Walter Hernandez. Coming from a couple of seasons in international motorsport either in the USA and the European F3000 series, Martin Basso was a surprise for many when he finished the afternoon session fifth in a quick knowldege of the circuito and the car (Honda).

Omar Martinez used his Corolla to be seventh and best Toyota, while Marcelo Bugliotti also was among pace setters with the new Chevrolet Astra., ahead of Oscar Fineschi (Honda), Norberto Fontana (Toyota) and Lucas Armellini (Chevrolet).

On Sunday, there will be two heats at 10 and 10:30 (six laps each) and a main event at 12:40 (50 laps), local time.
