European Touring Car Championship in Magny-Cours Alfa Romeo Autodelta Defends The Leadership
The three Alfa 156s of Autodelta Squadra Corse are ready for the weekend in France, for the third round of European Touring Car Championship at Magny-Cours circuit. Alfa Romeo Autodelta are leading the Championship both in Drivers series, with Gabriele Tarquini first and Fabrizio Giovanardi second, and in Manufacturers championship before Bmw and Seat.
After two beautiful "tris" at the Spanish circuit of Valencia, with one win for Tarquini and one for Giovanardi and two third places for young Brasilian Augusto Farfus, in the French race the Alfas will run with the handicap weights: 40 kg for Tarquini and Giovanardi and 10 kg for Farfus.
The weekend's program provides qualifying session on Saturady 1st May (from 15.10 to 15.40) and two races on Sunday 2nd May (from 14.45 and 15.45).
In Magny-Cours also the third round of European Alfa Challenge with around 30 drivers from 8 Countries at the wheels of the Alfa 147 GTA Cups. After rwo races (Monza and Valencia) two young drivers are at the top of the Championship: the Italian Simone Iacone and the Dutch Rory Bertram.
