Weather: Warm, overcast
Bernd Schneider (Mercedes) 1st: Claimed his second pole position in the ITC series. "I'm quite happy. Although there was still some cement dust down to cover the oil at Redgate, I braked in the same place as normal and there was no problem. Kurt was fast but I felt that I could beat him. The race will be tough on the tyres but I'm sure the Bridgestone people will do a good job for us."
Kurt Thiim (Mercedes) 2nd: "I missed my braking at the hairpin and didn't think it was going to be a good time. Even so I thought I might have held off Schneider. Anyway the race won't be boring now because I have somebody to overtake."
Dario Franchitti (Mercedes) 3rd: "I made a mistake going into the esses so the only one I can be angry with is myself."
Jorg van Ommen (Mercedes) 4th: "My lap felt good but the time was bad. I was too slow in the hairpin - I don't know why."
Giancarlo Fisichella (Alfa Romeo) 5th: "I'm really happy with the car and, I have to say, it was a perfect lap."
Klaus Ludwig (Opel) 6th: "In three places I braked too early. Maybe I wanted to do well too much because I was quite nervous. I hoped to be at least third quickest, like this morning. But I feel that I'm in a good position and a victory is possible."
Yannick Dalmas (Opel) 8th: "I pushed very hard but, as I missed a lot of time yesterday, we still have to work on the handling. I have oversteer and understeer, and the race will be quite hard,"
Uwe Alzen (Mercedes) 9th: "I'm absolutely delighted. Maybe on full fuel tanks tomorrow the car will be even better."
Ellen Lohr (Mercedes) 10th: "I lost some time in Coppice corner but for the rest of the lap the car was good. I had more grip than I expected so it looks good for the race."
Michael Bartels (Alfa Romeo) 11th: Was forced to abort his warm-up lap when Manuel Reuter's car caught fire. Sat in the pits for 20 minutes waiting for the restart. "The racing line at the first corner was covered in cement dust and, when I went over it the car picked-up all the dust. For the next few corners the car was just sliding everywhere. I can't seem to shake off the bad luck I've been having recently. It's a shame because the car felt really good and I thought a place in the top six was possible."
Keke Rosberg (Opel) 14th: "I don't think we did anything wrong but we are totally off the pace."
Manuel Reuter (Opel) 15th: "I had smoke in the car during the warm-up lap. It just got worse and worse, and I could hardly see anything. Then, as I crossed the line, there was a loud bang and the car caught fire. My time was alright considering I was on fire - only 8/10ths off the fastest, according to the split times."
