No result in Hungary

The Hungaroring in Hungary is the home of the 10th round of the Porsche Supercup 2004, during the Hungarian Grand prix. The DeWalt Racing PZRO JAM Team drivers Patrick Huisman and Alessandro Zampedri set their mind to a good result in the normally overheated weather conditions of the "Dusty Circuit" Hungaroring. But the race didn't bring the two drivers a finish and go home with no result.

Qualifying

The qualifying session on Saturday was more or less satisfying for the team. Patrick, who got a 7th place on the grid for Sunday was maybe a little bit disappointed since the speed in the car was ok and the sector times in the first and third sector were fast enough for a top 4 position. "The car felt good and the speed in the car was ok. I had a problem with the gas pedal that got loose during the second sector of my supposed fastest lap. That was the cause of the slower second sector in that lap. I am 7th on the grid now, just beside Montermini who is just one point behind me in the championship. That can be some nice racing action tomorrow."

For Alex the qualification was not as expected. Jürgen Alzen: "In the wheel, where it connects with the axle, some parts broke off. Normally it lasts about 10 years, you never change it, but unfortunately it broke. It was not responsible to sent Alex back on the track again." Of Course Alex was very disappointed with the 14th position on the grid on Sunday.

Race

With a good start for Patrick, he went into the first corner just behind Montermini who had a great start. But Christian Menzel had a bad start and tried to make up his lost positions in the first corner. In an action with no chance he caused an end of the race for Patrick who lightly touched Montermini. "Menzel did an action like a Japanese fighter pilot when he tried to improve the lost positions during his bad start. I tried to brake a little bit early to be able to overtake him in the inside of the corner. Then Menzell came along the inside and Montermini had to make way to avoid a crash. That made me touch him at the back of his car. My cooler broke down and that was the end of the race for me." Said Patrick.

Alex was well underway to the front of the field from p14 and was already 7th after 1 lap. Then the gearbox got stuck in gear two which caused an early end of the race for Alex.

After all a disappointing weekend for the DeWalt Racing PZRO JAM team. The next race in Spa has to bring the results the team is looking for since they did and extensive test at the track last month.
