FECTEAU RAKES IN MORE POINTS AT CALABOGIE

Calabogie, Ontario, July 26th, 2009. - Jocelyn Fecteau and Media Racing Team were entered this weekend in the Ted Powell Memorial Race Weekend at Calabogie Motorsports Park, the new race facility west of Ottawa. A weekend where the team had to deal with an important mechanical failure forcing Fecteau to take to the track for both rounds with the checkered flag in mind in order to pick up more points in the standings. In the end, mkission was indeed accomplished with a 15th place Saturday and a 12th for the second tround on Sunday. This enables Jocelyn Fecteau to stay in the "Top 5" of the Touring Class standings.

It all started on a wet Friday morning practice session: another steep learning curve for Media Racing Team and its driver that had to learn this winding five kilometre race track around Lake Calabogie. "I had a new track to learn and rain to make my life miserable', claimed Fecteau."It was much better in the sewcond session when the tarmac was dry and I could take a few seconds off my times."

Bads news came Saturday morning. While Fecteau kept improving a valve spring broke in the Toyota Corolla XRS engine, forcing more challenge for the team who had to install a new four-banger. Unable to attend the qualifying session, the car was positionned last on the grid. "But we were ready for the race with our spare engine and I took the green flag from last row", added the Mont-St-Gregoire driver. "Such a technical track with an almost stock power plant adds to the challenge. So, I paced myself with the final stripe in mind and more championship points."

Sunday was no different and the Media Racing Team driver knew he did not have another podium in sight as was the case in Toronto two weeks ago. "We were down about 50 horsepower. My startegy was the same and I gained a few positions in the race, finishing a comforting 12th."

Jocelyn Fecteau had a sweet and sour weekend, the sixth of eight in the 2009 Canadian Touring Car Championship: "On one hand, I must thank my team for the relentless work : the guys at Media Racing Team are dedicated and it belongs to them if I completed this racing double header. On the other hand, I would have preferred better results but Calabogie stood to its reputation to be a track to tame. We will be in Trois-Rivières in front of our fans. No need to say we will be race and podium ready over there." The next double header of the Canadian Touring Car Championship will be held from the 14 to the 16 of August on the urban facility of Trois-Rivières. It will be the 40th edition of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières.

Media Racing Team participation in the 2009 Canadian Touring Car Championship is only possible with the support of Occasions Dery/Dery Toyota, Spinelli Lexus Lachine & Pointe-Claire, SDP Autosport, Pneus Trudeau, Intergroupe insurance, Encan Talbot, Lettrage Provan, Itex, Auto Cinq, Oakley, 66 Graphx, STD suspension, Transport Laberge, Holiday inn, Touchette Motorsport, Underground Design, Role Model Clothing, Momo, PA Auto Recyclage, Gauthier Flageole, Groupe Arctic Beluga, Chase Cam Video, Boom FM and Le Canada Francais.
