Super Star Aaron Kwok was crowned the 2009 Clio Cup China driver champion at Beijing Auto Show
Hong Kong super start Aaron Kwok showed up at the 11th Beijing Auto Show in support of the Renault China's booth and was crowned the 2009 Clio Cup China series champion. Mr. Kwok also indicated that he will continue to participate the championship in 2010.
Aaron Kwok, the super star with strong car-racing passion, clinched the champion title of the newly announced one-make series-Clio Cup China in 2009. Robert Chan, President of Renault Greater China division, presented the champion trophy to Kwok at the Auto Show. FRD introduced the new one- make series to China in 2009. The series went to Nurburgring, Germany; Le Mans, France then traveled back to China, bringing the excitement of a kind to Chinese race fans. Kwok shared his Clio experience at the Beijing Auto Show:"To me, the Clio cars are designed to bring good speed. After my last season's experience with Clio racing cars, I found the car easy to master and fun to driver in." The Clio Cup China's racers will travel back to Nurburgring, Germany at Renault Sport Technologies' invitation to enjoy the "Renault Racing Festival" in May 13th to 16th, 2010. Due to the tight working schedule, Kwok will skip the Nurburgring race and focus on the national rounds in 2010.
It was the Press Day of the Beijing Auto Show. Aaron Kwok showing up there was indeed a nice surprise to the journalists and fans, as Renault China didn't previously announce that Mr. Kwok would visit the booth. Suddenly, a big crowd rushed to Renault booth including reporters, many lady models off or between duties and guests. The exhibition organizer mandatorily appointed 150 security guards to protect the Renault booth on 3 sides as human fences during the event. Unquestionably, the Renault booth became the high-light of the day.
