Audette On Pole For Saturday Heat Race at Mosport's Vortex Brake Pads 200
(BOWMANVILLE, ON -- June 12, 2010) -- Mathieu Audette will pace the field in Saturday's heat race for the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship at the Vortex Brake Pads 200 at Mosport International Raceway.
Audette, driving his Audette Racing Acura RSX, captured the pole position on his second to last lap of the session with a time of 1:31.272, which was less than a tenth (0.109) of a second faster than the Team Aldo/Northwest BMW 328 of Gregory Pootmans (1:31.381). Defending Super Touring (ST) champion Nick Wittmer will start third in his Lombardi Racing Honda Civic Si (1:32.080).
In the Touring class, Nigel Heron of Heron Motorsports will start first in his Acura Type R with a time of 1:35.761. Starting right behind Heron will be the M&S Racing Honda Civic of Tom Kwok (1:35.966) and P.J. Groenke in one of Octane Motorsports' two Mini Coopers (1:36.124).
Saturday's 30-minute race will get underway at 1:25 pm.
