Rafael Verna (Ford) won in the eleventh race of Turismo Carretera disputed last Sunday in Buenos Aires. Who completed the podium were J.M. Silva (Ford) and Daniel Cingolani (Ford).

In a fantastic and polemical final, Verna passed Marcos Di Palma (Chevrolet), who was the leader during all the race in a great job for him, but problems in the gearbox of his machine made him lose positions until he finished fifth.

Verna qualified ninth on Sunday and he finished second in his series. Verna started fourth the final race with the intention of be in the podium, but the unexpected situations of the race and gave him the chance of win again in Buenos Aires. This is the sixth victory for Verna in T.C., the third time he win in this circuit and where he won for the last time in September 17th. of 2000 season. This result is very important for him after the lots of problems he passed during this season. After the race the winner said: ¨I`m very happy. This is for all the sponsors who keep supporting us in spite of the bad results. Also I would like to thanks to my mechanics their good job¨.

The second finisher in this race, J.M. Silva, keep showing his good moment. Silva finished third in the last race of Olavarría. Also he is the winner of the two last races of T.C.2000.

On Saturday he qualified seventh, but a problem during the series make him started the final race in the tenth line of the grid. After fifteen laps he was already eighth and fighting for more. Five laps later Silva was fourth. In the last curve he passed Marcos Di Palma who was with problems, but Silva left the position to Marcos because it was with yellow flag. Cingolani (Ford) and Martínez (Ford) who didn`t see the yellow flag passed both cars. But the stewards gave back the second position to Silva (who was very angry). They didn`t put Marcos second because he was already slow and with problems in his car. A polemical final for a great race.

Finally, Daniel Cingolani concluded third and get with this his best result in T.C. since he joined the category this year. He completed a fantastic weekend and he is a candidate to win before finish this season. ¨It`s very nice be in a podium of T.C. It was the target since the season started¨ said Cingolani.

After the decision of the stewards, Omar Martínez was really annoying with them. This would be his first podium in Buenos Aires for him. In spite of loose the third place, Martínez took a good result in the fight for the championship, where Guillermo Ortelli (Chevrolet), who finished sixth this race, keep leading with 167.50 points

The winner of the last two races of T.C. and poleman in Buenos Aires, Diego Aventín was the candidate to win again, but a mistake in the series. where he touched Ernesto Bessone (Dodge) make him started the final race forty third after a penalty of 30 seconds in the series.. Aventín finished the race ninth, a great job for, but he could win if he would used his head in the series.

The next race of Turismo Carretera will be in September 22th in Balcarce, town of Juan Manuel Fangio.
