Aaron Scott enjoyed a solid debut in his Omnico Renault Clio Cup car on Bank Holiday Monday at Brands Hatch. With only one proper test before round 1 Scott faced the difficult task of getting to grips with his new front wheel drive saloon car.

In a hectic qualifying session Aaron posted the 18th fastest time of 32 cars. In the race Aaron made a good start to hold position going into Paddock Hill bend, after passing 2 cars on the opening lap Aaron enjoyed a race long scrap with 5 cars to eventually finish in 13th place - earning valuable Championship points in the process.

Aaron said of his first Clio race, " I expected the first lap to be more hairy than it was - as I know the tin top style of racing has a reputation for a bit of contact! I kept my nose clean and feel the experience this weekend will stand me and the team in good stead for the future. I'm looking forward to three test days before the next race and I'm confident for the year ahead. I had a good deal of support at the circuit with my sponsors Omnico and Building Environmental Services cheering me on!!""

Team manager at the Tim Norton team, Nigel Gathercole commented, " We're delighted with the progress Aaron is making and also look forward to the season ahead. We'll be working hard over the next few test days and hope we can be in the top ten at Oulton. "

The next race for the Omnico Clio Cup car is at Oulton Park on April 21.
