12th place for Tudor's Patrick Huisman in Bahrain's second race
Tudor driver Patrick Huisman was more confident than yesterday for the second race of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup week-end at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain. Temperatures were as elevated as yesterday with a morning high of 33 degrees.
The second round of this first week-end of the season took place as a support race to the 2010 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. Yesterday in race 1, Huisman had finished 19th while today he started 11th on the grid and finished in 12th. At the premiere of the weekend is René Rast, who achieved his two first wins of the new season. Jeroen Bleekemolen finished 2nd in race 2, followed by Nicholas Tandy in 3rd.
Tudor driver Patrick Huisman said he likes the layout of Bahrain. "It does not look difficult but in fact it's technical with a combination of very low speed corners. In many parts, and especially the newly built part, it was difficult to find the best combination for maximum grip in the corners. I was too slow again and experienced technical problems despite a good start. I could overtake, but I had no speed on the straight lines. We estimate that we are missing roughly four kilometers and that something must be wrong with our engines."
Always taking away the postive, Husiman said, "At least I got points for the team in the two races. This is the positive take-away of my weekend with the new team, who did a good job despite the really hot conditions. In Barcelona we will be in better shape after testing again."
Over the last 25 years, Tudor and Porsche alike have worked persistently on design, technology and reliability, resulting in bold innovations and avant-garde solutions.
