Ledesma came to TC 2000 and conquered Bahia Blanca.

In only his fifth attempt since re-entering the TC 2000 Championship, General Motors won again with their new Astra and Christian Ledesma at the wheel of one of these two works cars.

Ledesma was brilliant all the weeknd long at Bahia Blanca. Not only he was fastest in Qualifying session, but he also claimed victory in his 6-lap morning race today to get complete success a couple of hours later by being first of them all in the 40-lap main event.

The development and building of the Chevrolet Astra with engines tuned by Spiess in Germany was finished over the summer after Christmas, while the first few tests of it was done some weeks before the start of the 2003 season. The team headed by Dario Ramonda and the engineers Diego Bruna and Alejandro Venturi only needed five races to turn it into a winning machine.

Alongside one of Pro Racing team owners Marcelo Bugliotti, Christian Ledesma proved to be a good choice for the Chevrolet squad. He won a hardly fought race and was chased by the private Honda of Fabian Yannantuoni for some laps until its engine broke. The Civic leaked oil in the first corner and that caused mayhem among fron runners and not so, a fact that changed many positions in the final results behind the leading Astra.

With a good pace, Nelson Garcia (Ford Escort Zetec) returned to podium and was second in front of Gabriel Furlan's Mitsubishi Lancer. Gabriel Ponce de Leon drove the bet Ford Focus to fourth, with team mate Walter Hernandez fifth and Bugliotti sixth. Juan Pablo Satorra (Ford Escort) was seventh after starting third, but he was involved in some door to door action and fall down to that place. Three of the Fineschi Racing Hondas were among the top ten, with Oscar Fineschi Leandro Carducci and Chilean Julio Infante in that order.

The championship goes to Obera in Misiones on 6th July. Norberto Fontana retired today but is still first with 62 points. Ponce de Leon and Hernandez now try to catch him as they score 55 and 51. They are followed by Garcia with 31 and Ledesma with 30.
