Bicester, UK, Monday 12th February 2001: On the 20th anniversary of its involvement in international motorsport Avon Racing, one of the worlds premier tyre manufacturers, has announced that it will be servicing two championship classes in this years European Le Mans Series. The five European rounds get underway at Donington, England on 13-14th April and the Avon decision reinforces the status of the ELMS as Europe's premier sportscar championship.

The Series of sportscar endurance races, based upon the regulations of the French classic, has four classes and Avon will be servicing two of them, the LMP 900 and LMP 675, throughout the season.

John Macdonald, ELMS Executive Director says "Avon has an impressive history in motorsport with a reputation for providing an excellent service. It's commendable that they have taken this step and pleasing to know that the European Le Mans Series has become such an attraction to competitors, teams, manufacturers and suppliers."
