CAMP QUALITY CAPER DRIVES FOR OUTBACK ACTION - AND DOLLARS!
The emotional and financial burden of raising a child with cancer is something, thankfully, most of us will not have to experience in this life.
Camp Quality recognises the complex strain that these families must endure and seeks to relieve some of the tensions by providing the unique and uplifting Camp Quality experience for youngsters with the life-threatening affliction of cancer.
The Camp Quality Caper has become the prime fund-raising tool for this non-profit, volunteer organisation, raising over $150,000 last year alone. This sum will ensure that an extra 1000 children, and their families, will benefit from these valuable week-long holidays.
Unfortunately the waiting list for children continues to grow, and so must the aims of The Caper in order meet the demands of this now hugely popular activity.
Competitors in The Caper will not only enjoy the satisfaction of raising money for these eager children, but also a week of adventure, comraderie and plain good fun. Cars as diverse as Mini Mokes, Leyland P76s, Austin Lancers, Saabs and Volvos are already entered for the outback odyssey due to start in the Victorian resort town of Yarrawonga on October 21.
The 1995 event will cover 2800 kilometres of outback roads, taking in such major centres as Swan Hill, Mildura, Clare, Renmark and Broken Hill. Not to mention the dozens of smaller hamlets and villages like Moulamein, Patchewollock, Yunta and Hawker. The finish will be in Cobar on October 28.
All the while, our "Caperites" with the valuable help of local service clubs and organisations, will be gathering the funds needed to send sick kids to camp.
