Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO Andrew Westacott will join the Board of Directors at the CAMS Foundation.

Run by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport, the CAMS Foundation aims to raise funds to help young motor racing talent compete both in Australia and abroad.

Alumni includes Daniel Ricciardo, Will Power, Chris Atkinson, Molly Taylor, James Courtney, Will Davison, and Scott Pye.

Westacott is the latest edition to the board that includes Chairman Valentina Stojanovska, and directors Andrew Papadopoulos, Mark Skaife, and Ron Gauci.

“It is an honour to join the CAMS Foundation Board, and to play a part in unearthing and assisting future champions of our sport,” Westacott said.

“Not only can the CAMS Foundation celebrate Daniel Ricciardo as one of its graduates, but we’ve seen success in IndyCar with Will Power, Molly Taylor as an Australian Rally Champion, many junior drivers in a variety of categories and many current drivers on the Supercars grid.”

Westacott’s appointment comes in the wake of CAMS reviving the Rising Stars programme for 2017, with Simon Fallon, Cameron Shields, Zane Morse, and Ryan Suhle all receiving backing to race in Australian Formula 4 this season.
