PONCE INLET, FL - The All Star sprint car series continues their "Tour 2000" racing schedule with August events in the Wolverine state and the Buckeye state. After catching their breath following the grueling Ohio Speedweek, the tour heads to Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Michigan for a Saturday, July 8 event. This track always provides action packed events, with nine past winners on the Butler oval out of 11 events being Tim Green, Dave Blaney, Denny Donaldson, Jac Haudenschild, Rich Vogler, Robbie Stanley, Jeff Shepard, Kenny Jacobs with a win apiece and Joey Saldana with three wins. The annual Wednesday stop before the King's Royal weekend at Eldora Speedway takes place at Attica Raceway Park in Attica on July 12 for the annual "Brad Doty Night." Fans will remember last year's exciting finish with Butch Schroeder nipping Joey Saldana at the finish line as the pair crossed under the flagstand side-by-side. Next up is the GM Powertrain Michigan Nationals at the New 96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, MI. Following a May rainout, the teams are looking forward to the return to the big half-mile of New 96 on Sat. July 22. Frankie Kerr is the defending GM Powertrain Nationals champion. Rounding out the month is the highest paying event at Chillicothe's K-C Raceway, the annual Freedom 40, paying $10,000 to the winner. This year's event is scheduled for Saturday night, July 29 on the 3/8 mile high banks. Last year's event was exciting right down to the last lap with Elmore, Ohio's Alvin Roepke taking his first All Star win and pocketing $10,000. For further information, visit www.allstarsprint.com
