Farfus in Third Line at Magny-Cours in Alfa Challenge Race 1 Campani Wins

The Alfa 156 Autodelta of Brazilian Augusto Farfus, with his 6th position on the grid, is the best qualified official Alfa Romeo Driver for the third race of the European Touring Car Championship '04. His team-mates Gabriele Tarquini and Fabrizio Giovanardi follow him on the 7th and 8th times overall. With 40 kilos ballast (imposed to the winner of each race by FIA regulations) for both 156 S2000, Tarquini and Giovanardi had a very difficult job today during the practice sessions. Austrian driver Michele Bartyan was the fastest on the Independent classification with his Alfa Romeo 156 of the Oregon Team.

Today Italian driver Maurizio Campani won the 5th race of the Alfa 147 GTA Cup, after a very exciting race. Spanish Luis Villamil was 2nd overall and championship leader Simone Iacone arrived 3rd. Iacone leads the "Under 25" classification, too.
