To that effort, Ferrari will set up an independent working group and structure which will work in relationship with Sauber- Petronas' own technical department. Peter Sauber: "I am very happy with this solution which solves in the best way our engine concerns and will enable us to work more independently in the future." For this purpose, Sauber Petronas Engineering AG, based in Hinwil was founded. Tan Sri Datuk Azizan (Chairman of Petronas): "Now Petronas and Malaysia become part of a highly competitive Formula One en- gine program with state of the art technology. Head of the engine department's technical operations at Sauber Petronas Engineering effective November 1st, 1996 will be Osamu Goto. As an engineer and from 1988 as Honda's Formula One project leader, Osamu Goto has contributed to winning five Formu- la One constructor titles between 1986 and 1990.
