SCCA Pro Racing/WKA Constructors Championship announces 2003 class structure.

TOPEKA, Kan. (December 4, 2002) -- SCCA Pro Racing and the World Karting Association (WKA) announced today the class structure for the 2003 Constructors Championship. The series will consist of seven different classes next season with four returning classes; ICC, ICA, Cadet and World Formula, and three new classes; 80cc Shifter Junior, Yamaha Supercan (Superbox) and ICC Heavy.

"The addition of the three new classes in 2003 will better diversify our class structure," said Randy Kugler, World Karting Association President. "Yamaha Supercan is the most popular junior class on both the East and West Coast and 80cc Shifter Junior provides the Constructors Championship with a class to develop our young stars to prepare them for the big step into the ICC class.

"Adding the ICC Heavy class (total weight over 400 pounds with no age restriction) will give an opportunity for shifter drivers young and old alike to compete in a division that will better accommodate their weight and size restrictions. Needless to say we are very excited about this new package."
