The two series will be raced on special scanned versions of the tracks that are used in both the Sprint and Endurance Series.

These will include Spa, Silverstone, Zolder, Monza, Brands Hatch and many others.

iRacing's driver swap system will be used so participants can co-drive the same entry from distinct locations.

The vast majority of GT3 cars will be represented in the new virtual series.

"We're proud to have the SRO Motorsports Group as the first European-based racing series promoter in a group of iRacing partners that includes NASCAR, IndyCar and V8 Supercars," said Steve Myers, iRacing's executive vice-president.

"This partnership began with our initial introduction at September's iRacing.com Nürburgring 1000 and quickly developed into a conversation on how iRacing and SRO could work together."

SRO Motorsports Group and iRacing.com announced their partnership earlier this year. It sees SRO become the first European based race organizer to embrace the iRacing's sim culture.

iRacing sponsored last years' Nurburgring 1000kms, which was the final round of the 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series.
