Formula S1/PTK driver signed by Condor Motorsports to race against stiff Fran-Am 2000 competition.

Atlanta, GA -- 17-year-old Paul Tracy shifter ace from Atlanta, GA, Chris Festa, recently tested and signed with top formula team, Condor Motorsports, to run the entire 2003 Fran-Am 2000 Championship Winter Series. The three event, five-race series, which is sanctioned by Grand-Am and sponsored by Michelin international, will be used as a "tune-up" for many top Fran-Am 2000 teams from around the world, including France, England and Mexico.

Festa completed a successful test with the Bloomington, CA based Condor Motorsports in early January and is already scheduled back in the car before the first race on January 25-26 at Sebring Int'l Raceway. Condor Motorsports team owner, Carlos Bobeda, was impressed with Festa's pace and feedback from the first session.

"We tested Chris at Button Willow and he did great right from the start," said Bobeda, the 1998 Toyota-Atlantic Owner of the Year. "Chris was intense and focused right from the start and takes a very professional approach as well. We were able to get him up to speed quickly."

Festa will resume testing within the next few weeks before the first round. With only just over three years of racing competitively under his belt, the young driver has come a long way in just a short time.

"I am very excited about the Fran-Am Winter Series," said Festa. "The car is extremely responsive and to be working with Carlos is a big plus. He certainly knows the car and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such a solid engineer."

The Fran-Am 2000 Winter Series will offer Festa with valuable seat time in a formula car, but he will also stay sharp running his PTK 125cc shifterkart during the season in select events. While Festa will add additional formula car experience to his resume, a top three in the Fran-Am 2000 Winter Series will award an opportunity to test the new Fran-Am V6-powered car in 2003.
