MICHAEL LYONS TO COMPETE IN FORMULA RENAULT UK

Michael Lyons will race in the 2009 Formula Renault UK Championship, in conjunction with CRS Racing. The 18 year-old British driver is ready to go at Brands Hatch on the first weekend of April for the new season of Formula Renault UK, the championship won by CRS driver Adam Christodoulou in 2008.

Michael's racing career didn't begin in karting like many of his peers, but in historic racing, where he has achieved a great deal of success. A season in the Formula Renault BARC Championship and then the Winter Series in 2008 has set him up for his rookie Formula Renault UK year.

"I'm delighted to have this opportunity to step up to Formula Renault UK," commented Michael. "Especially as it is in conjunction with CRS. They have some of the best people in the business and I know I will learn a lot from them as we go through the year."

"Michael started quite late with us," said CRS Team Director, Andrew Kirkaldy. "But he has showed well in testing and I think as the year progresses and we work more with him he will become increasingly competitive."

Michael will not be taking part in the Silverstone test next week as he is on duty in Melbourne, racing in the F5000 race that supports the Australian Grand Prix. He will of course be back in good time for the Formula Renault season-opener at Brands Hatch.
