TITLE CHALLENGER BRATT HAS HIGH HOPES FOR DONINGTON

Apotex Scorpio Motorsport star Will Bratt is aiming for a quick return to the top step of the podium at Donington Park National Circuit next weekend, 14th/15th July, as the second half of the Formula Renault UK Championship gets underway with the 11th and 12th rounds of the season.

Currently fourth overall in the 2007 driver standings, 19-year-old Will has won three of the last four races with some absolutely stunning performances and is keen to continue the momentum with more victories at the 1.95-mile Leicestershire venue next weekend.

As the home venue for Loughborough-based Apotex Scorpio, the team is hopeful of a strong set of results and especially so when considering the incredible run it has recently enjoyed, the most successful period in the history of Jon Pettitt and Tony Trevor's squad.

Looking ahead to the first of two visits to Donington this season, Adderbury-based Will commented: "We've got an open mind really, we need to make sure the car is working well for the fast, flowing parts of the track but I'm sure we'll be strong and I'm feeling pretty confident.

"We haven't had an official test at Donington this year so it'll be difficult to gauge where everyone will be but we've been fast at every circuit this year and having won three of the last four races I'm feeling good."

During the corresponding race meeting last season, Will enjoyed a podium finish during round 12 and was also a front-runner in the battle for the Donington Park Racing Association Club (DPRAC) Cup, a contest in which he finished third overall.

"I think we stand a very good chance of continuing the momentum we've had recently and I've no doubt we'll be able to challenge for wins and podiums", added Will, "It was good to be on the podium at Donington last year but hopefully we'll be able to fight for wins too this time around."

Pre-event testing ahead of the 11th and 12th rounds of the 2007 Formula Renault UK season will take place this coming Thursday, 12th July, with qualifying following on Saturday, 14th July. Reverting to its regular format, the championship will have two qualifying sessions at Donington which will take place at 10.35 and 15.15.

The weekend's two races are timetabled for Sunday, 15th July, with round 11 expected to get underway at 10.40 and round 12 scheduled to follow at 16.10. Both races will also receive live television coverage via digital satellite and cable channel Setanta Sports 1.
