INTERNATIONAL FLAVOUR AT FINAL CROFT RACE MEETING
The curtain comes down with the final circuit racing action of the 2006 season at Croft Circuit, North Yorkshire this weekend (Saturday 11th November), but with a truly international flavour in the entry list for the final round of the Renault Winter Series, race fans should be in for a treat to take them through the winter months.
And with no less than a dozen countries represented in the Formula Renault UK Winter Championship with Michelin, it is anyone's guess which flag will be hoisted above the podium.
Fortec Motorsport fields 2005 Graduate Cup Champion Richard Keen from Amersham but local honour is expected to be upheld by Leeds driver Jon Lancaster. Two champions from other formulae make their Formula Renault UK debuts with Irishman Niall Breen, the reigning Formula BMW UK Champion, and American Carl Skerlong who is the 2006 American Formula TR Pro Series 2000 Champion.
Neb Bursac becomes the first Serbian to race in Formula Renault UK whilst Swede Pierre Selander, Frenchman Michael Rossi and Anton Nebylitskiy from Russia will all be in action. 16 year old Scot Ryan Borthwick will be hoping to impress and he'll face the likes of Indian driver Armaan Ebrahim as well as the double winner of the opening round at Brands Hatch yesterday, Franck Mailleux from France and Swiss ace Ronnie Theiler.
The remaining competitors are Formula Renault UK debutants including Brazilian pair Claudio Cantelli Jnr and Adriano Buzaid who will be joined by Austrian Martin Ragginger, Japanese Sho Hanawa, and Washington, USA racer Jeremy Braun.
The action kicks off with practice at 9.30am followed by a full supporting programme straight after. Admission is just £7 with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted FREE.
