WORLD SERIES TICKET DEMAND STILL STRONG

MORE than 150,000 free World Series by Renault tickets have already been requested by fans coming to Silverstone Grand Prix circuit on 7th/8th June.

Renault's free festival was the second-biggest UK motorsport event of 2007 behind only the British Grand Prix, with a World Series record 135,000 spectators.

Top International and UK racing comes from Formula Renault 3.5, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, Eurocup Megane Trophy, Formula Renault UK and ELF Renault Clio Cup.

In between races, highspeed laps in ING Renault F1 Team's R27 by GP2 race-winner Romain Grosjean will entertain fans in the packed grandstands.

Also taking to the track is a range of historic Renault cars such as Alain Prost's 1983 RE40, one of Renault's most successful cars of the turbo era. Renault's rally history is celebrated with the flame-spitting R5 Maxi Turbo, while sportscar heritage is represented in the shape of the 1978 Le Mans 24-hour winning Alpine A442B.

RENAULT PAST - MIKE CONWAY

Who: 2004 champion, Mike went on to win the British F3 title and now races in GP2. Finished 4th behind Lewis Hamilton in 2003 but a stunningly consistent season with Fortec Motorsport delivered the title with two races to spare.

CHAMPION: Mike had eight wins and was never out of the top four in 18 starts

He says: "From day one of testing the car was quick. At the first meeting I got two poles and two wins and my engineer Paul Jackson was able to keep giving me a great set-up and knew exactly how I wanted the car. It was a good year and helped make the step up to Formula Three much easier. " (Mike Conway)

RENAULT Sport UK estimates that almost 100 FR2.0 cars have been sold in the UK since the single-make Tatuus chassis was launched in 2000. Of these, around 50 are currently being raced in the Formula Renault UK and Formula Renault BARC Championships. A total of 69 new-shape Clio Cup cars have been sold since 2007.

- ACTION from round two of the Formula Renault UK Championship has had its first two showings on ITV's Motorsport UK. Broadcast first on Tuesday afternoon on ITV4, it was repeated on ITV1 on Wednesday night. The next action will be in two weeks' time, while previous episodes are available to view via the 'Catch Up' service on www.itv.com.

- COMPETITION among the 2008 field of Graduate Cup drivers is hotting up, with Dean Stoneman's round six win taking him just 16 points ahead of Oli Webb. Scott Jenkins, Josh Scott and James Calado are covered by just four points, with Henry Surtees a further five back. Those six rookie drivers are all inside the top 12 of the overall standings.

TOP DRIVES: Dean Stoneman was named THB Clowes Driver of the Day for his outstanding win in round six, a rare achievement by a singlecar team in Formula Renault UK since 2000. Manor Competition's Kris Loane scooped the award for round five, after racing from seventh on the grid to third, passing series leader Adam Christodoulou late on.
