OULTON PARK PREVIEW

The Oulton Park round of the Formula Renault UK Championship usually attracts a big crowd so the CRS Racing boys will be out to put on a great show for the spectators this weekend. Close to the city of Chester, Oulton Park is one of the UK's best racing circuits and a real favourite amongst the drivers. It is also a very unforgiving track so the young racers will have to work hard to keep their focus throughout the event.

JOSH SCOTT:

"It's great that we have the two 45-minute test sessions on Friday as this is one of the pre-season tests that I had to miss because of my visa delay. I did race there last year though and tested for a couple of days last November so it will just be a case of re-familiarising myself with the track. Oulton has some really good fast corners: Turn One, Cascades and the double right apex Druids. It also has a tight hairpin and chicane though so there are a couple of good overtaking opportunities. At Donington my goal was to qualify better and by that I mean in the front two rows. I managed it for the second race so this time out I will be pushing for top four in both qualifying sessions. I am really hungry for a win now so I will be giving it everything I've got this weekend."

LEWIS WILIAMSON:

"Donington was great for me; the team did a really good job to get us a good result and again I have come away having learnt a lot. We tested at Oulton Park earlier in the year but the conditions were very different to what is forecast for this weekend. The testing went okay though so hopefully I can make some good progress. It will be tough as it is quite a new track for me and very unforgiving, but I hope I won't find out much more about that! My plan is to keep all four wheels on the black stuff and get some good results again."

HARRY TINCKNELL:

"Oulton Park is my favourite track on the calendar this year; it's very quick and undulating and the official test went well there when I was eighth fastest without putting any new tyres on the car. I learnt a lot at the test and I feel like we have a good set up for the weekend so I'm hoping for another good result. Donington was a difficult weekend for me coming off the back of two podiums. The car was very ‘understeery' in qualifying but we made it a lot better for the race. I made up a few positions to sixth only to be disqualified, very harshly in my view, afterwards. I proved that it didn't get me down though and made seven positions in very tricky conditions in race two and I feel like I came out the weekend a lot stronger and can't wait to be back at the front at Oulton. I'm still leading the Graduate Cup by nine points, which was my aim to win at the start of the year so that is the most important thing. Hopefully I can have a less controversial weekend and score some good points towards the championship and maintain my lead in the Graduate Cup."

Live coverage begins on ITV4 this Sunday at 1200hrs and runs right through until 1800hrs. The Formula Renault races are scheduled for 1250hrs and 1750hrs.
