Institution of Mechanical Engineers Helps Steer MBM to 2005 Formula Renault Championship Success

Some of the biggest names in engineering and motorsport are throwing their weight behind the 2005 Formula Renault UK Championship season. Mark Burdett Motorsport (MBM) is proud to announce continued support from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) for the season.

The IMechE is sponsoring MBM's team in the UK motorsport industry to continue its association, presence and commitment to mechanical engineers in all fields of application. MBM and the IMechE will be working together at a number of promotional events throughout the year highlighting the work of the IMechE and the skills of mechanical engineers.

Motorsport fans can also look forward to hugely successful European Formula Student project on July 8, 9 and 10 this year. Thousands of engineering undergraduates from all over the UK will get behind the wheel of their own race car, designed and built from scratch, at the event at Bruntingthorpe. Formula Student helps maintain and develop the supply of high quality engineers to the automotive, motorsport and other high technology engineering industries. Those that partake in the event graduate with a wealth of directly transferable experience, preparing them for success in their chosen career.

The Formula Renault UK Championship continues to receive technical backing from Renault for the 2005 season, and an established position on the British Touring Car Championships (BTCC) support package the series truly is a training ground for tomorrows Formula One engineers and drivers.
