JFormula Renault UK race winner Will Bratt is aiming to achieve his second podium finish of the season at Croft in North Yorkshire the weekend after next, 15th/16th July, having just missed out on a rostrum placing at a drenched Knockhill less than three weeks ago.

Currently seventh overall in the championship standings, the Adderbury ace took a richly deserved fourth place finish at the Scottish venue during the eighth round of the season to record his second best result of the year and is now bidding to return to the podium as the Formula Renault UK season reaches its midway point.

Round four was the highlight of the year so far for Will, a superb maiden victory at Oulton Park Island Circuit seeing the Apotex Pharmaceuticals-backed ace atop the podium for the first time since his dominant T-Car Championship campaign in 2004.

Prior to the win, however, 18-year-old Will's previous best in Formula Renault UK came at Croft during the 2005 Winter Championship where he achieved an excellent fifth place result for his Scorpio Motorsport team. So, with happy memories of North Yorkshire he is aiming to continue his good form when he returns to Croft in a little over a week's time.

"Croft is an interesting circuit, it's quite difficult and there are some sequences which are vital to a good lap time", explained Will, "The Sunny In, Sunny Out part of the track is really hard to get absolutely right and is one of the most important parts of the circuit.

"I'd like to think we'll be in the top three or four but we need to wait until we get to Croft next week to see exactly how the weekend will work out for us. If we can have the sort of top four pace we had at Oulton Park then I'm sure we can make a bid for the podium.

"We're looking forward to be being back in the North, we do enjoy racing at Croft and it's certainly one of the most attractive venues we go to. It should be a good weekend and it'd be nice if we could move back into the top five or six in the championship."

The ninth and 10th rounds of the Formula Renault UK season will take place at Croft on 15th/16th July with a pre-event test scheduled for Friday, 14th July. After the category's recent stand-alone event at Knockhill in Scotland, the Croft races will mark Formula Renault UK's welcome return to the British Touring Car Championship support package.
