The Miami 250 will be run as scheduled this weekend, September 17 -- 19, at Homestead-Miami Speedway as Hurricane Ivan now appears to no longer be an immediate threat to Eastern Florida and the Southeastern U.S. coastline in general.

Although Hurricane Ivan appears to have taken a path into the Gulf of Mexico, we want to advise all participants and competitors that outer-band rainstorms related to the Hurricane will likely fall in the Homestead-Miami area. Plan on a rainy weekend.

The revised Miami 250 two-day event format calls for on-track activity on Saturday, September 18th and Sunday, September 19th. Competitor move-in is Friday, September 17th at 2:30 p.m. Additionally, all planned media events and press conferences will be held as scheduled, including the Miami 250 Official Event Press Conference, Thursday, September 16th at 11 a.m. Teams and drivers participating in this press conference and other promotional activity related to the Miami 250 have already been notified.

Although this will be the last scheduled Miami 250 Race Update bulletin to be distributed, you can obtain the complete revised event schedule and other information at www.grandamerican.com. Our telephone update hotline will continue to be available through the event weekend and can be accessed at 1-866-451-7223.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation to date and we look forward to seeing you this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
