MIAMI, FL (September 14, 2004) - Homestead-Miami Speedway, the City of Homestead, and Farm Share are teaming up to provide hurricane relief during the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series Miami 250 race on Sunday, September 19. The South Florida community is encouraged to make donations and bring supplies to the main entrance of Homestead-Miami Speedway throughout the day on Sunday.

"We encourage race fans and others in the South Florida community to bring donations and supplies to help provide for the people who have been affected by these recent storms," said Curtis Gray, President of Homestead-Miami Speedway. "Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted."

Donations and supplies will be accepted to aid in these relief efforts at a Farm Share transporter parked outside of the main entrance of Homestead-Miami Speedway. At the transporter, donations of items such as flashlights, batteries, non-perishable foods, first aid kits, hand-wipes, antibacterial gels, new toys, paper products and baby supplies (please no water or clothing) as well as monetary donations will be accepted. Once the transporter is full, a driver will take the supplies to the areas impacted by the recent hurricanes and distributed by Farm Share's local agencies.

"Farm Share is coordinating with Governor Bush and FEMA to deliver the supplies to the victims of these hurricanes," said Patricia Robbins, founder and chairwoman of Farm Share, Inc., a local non-profit organization that recovers and distributes food for people in need.
