NEC TEAM KEO RACING BUYS FIRST NEW FORMULA RENAULT 2.0!
The World Series by Renault at the Nuerburgring offered the perfect opportunity for Renault Sport Technologies to present the new Formula Renault 2.0 for 2010 to the public. Danish Team manager Kim Olsen (KEO Racing), participating in the Northern European Cup this weekend, took full advantage of the occasion and ordered the very first Formula Renault 2.0 2010.
Just ten minutes after the order form for the 2010 edition of the two litre car was released, Olson and NEC manager Ralph Weishaupt were already standing next to the car, handing over the completed form to Emmanuel Esnault from Renault Sport Technologies.
On behalf of the Northern European Cup, Ralph Weishaupt underlines the significance of the first new car to be one in his championship. He explains: 'I am very proud that the first Formula Renault 2.0 2010 is ordered by a NEC team. For us, it is another proof that we are a strong championship with high technical standards and are confident we will be able to maintain this high level in 2010'.
It is a nice surprise to the NEC teams that Renault Sport will deliver the car in order of purchase, not taking any preference to EUROCUP teams into account. In that way, all teams have an equal chance to obtain the car.
Renault Sport timed its presentation perfectly, showing its newest creation in combination with a financial leasing plan from Ermis Insurances. Having all EUROCUP and NEC teams present, in combination with the dawning end of this years season offered the right moment to inform all those involved with the Formula Renault 2.0 car for next year.
Kim Olson will receive his car as a part of the first batch to be delivered by Renault Sport. This first set of brand new single seaters is expected to be released and delivered to the customers by the middle of November 2009. Renault Sport ensured its audience of Saturday evening that information about spare parts and catalogues will be released shortly as well.
