The Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup is very proud to announce the first five entries for the season 2010. Even though the season of 2009 has not fully come to an end yet, the organization welcomes the first five new FR2.0 2010 cars to what will be the fifth season of the Northern European Cup.
After releasing the 2010 presentation on Thursday the 1st of October, the outlook for 2010 appears to be promising. Never before did the NEC receive so many entries for a next season, not having ended the current one yet.
Among the five entries are the Finnish team of Koiranen Brothers and Danish KEO Racing, who is returning to NEC in 2010. In addition to being one of the first cars for the Cup in the next season, KEO already surprised the single seater community by buying the very first new Formula Renault 2.0 2010.
The reason for the early start of 2010 can be found in the presentation for the coming season. The organization of NEC offers a considerable reduction of entry fees to the first 12 registered and paid FR2.0 2010 cars, from 15.500 to 9.500 Euros before the 1st of February. On top of that, the Spare part service of Renault MotorSport Germany offers a ten percent discount on all the parts for the 2010 model, if the team has paid and registered the new car before the mentioned deadline.
The organization of the Northern European Cup is very pleased with this substantial number of cars, and sees this as a confirmation that the chosen strategy for 2010 has proven to be the accurate one. NEC believes that allowing both 2010 and 2009 model, as well as lowering the costs for the teams will lead to a solid field, not harming the competitive nature of the series.
