Gelles Racing is pleased to announce that it will be sending a full team to Florida in the New Year to contest the Fran-Am/Formula Renault series - also known as the "Winter World Series."

The Virginia based team is currently running in the top three in the Fran Am Pro series championship being contested all over North America. Various fastest qualifying times, wins and podium finishes so far this season have established Gelles Racing as definitely one of the teams to beat.

International drivers will be keen to race in the Florida based series, attracted by the prestige, the prize money and the prospect of racing in a dry, warm climate rather than testing during the stresses of a European winter.

Team owner Bob Gelles said, "The team is looking to give an opportunity to drivers who want to win in the media spotlight and who want to make the move to F1 or Champ Car racing. The Fran Am Winter Series is an ideal way to showcase their talent and be seen where it counts."

The Winter Series is a collection of five championship races in January and February; concluding at the CART Grand Prix of St Petersburg on February 20-22, 2004. Drivers will compete for their share of a $100,000 purse; as well as other prizes.
