Donington Grand Race - Just a few points in the rain …
The Grand Race today started perfectly for DAMS while Neel JANI was leading the race after a few laps and Memo ROJAS was in the leading group (top 5). One more time this season the rain came (lap 9) to transform perfect race conditions in a nightmare. After a confusion due to radio communication problems the 3 DAMS cars lost their advantage gained on dry track to finish together around 10th position.
Neel JANI : "Everything was under control before the shower arrived. It seems like the Team and me could not understand clearly each other and we have lost everything in a few minutes. I did not loose too much in the championship, it could have been worse but for sure it was a good opportunity to come back very close from the championship lead today."
Memo ROJAS : "I am quite disappointed because in the beginning of the race I was quick and inside the leading group. I hope tomorrow we will be able to get these points we have missed today."
Bruce LORGERE-ROUX : "It is a shame that I could not push enough to keep contact with the leaders on the wet as I was on 3rd position after everybody stopped to change tyres. The car was perfect in the beginning of the race and I could put some pressure on MONDINI. Tomorrow will be more difficult to score some points."
