Three-year contract between Nevers Magny-Cours and SRW Events
The Nevers Magny-Cours circuit and SRW Events, organiser of the LG Super Racing Weekend series, signed a three-year agreement today, concerning the organisation and promotion of a round of the series on the French circuit in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
During the signing ceremony, Messrs Gerard Dumas and Philippe Guillaume, members of the executive board of the circuit, said: "We are very happy to have signed an agreement with Stephane Ratel of SRW Events which will allow the LG Super Racing Weekend to remain at Nevers Magny-Cours for three years, and to define together the partnership to reinforce the promotion of the event, which will become a major element of the sporting season of the Nièvre-based circuit."
Stephane Ratel, CEO of SRW Events commented : "At a time when the LG Super Racing Weekend is undertaking an ambitious three-year development programme, aiming to achieve World Championship status for both FIA Championships (Touring Cars in 2005 and GT in 2006), both supported by renowned automobile manufacturers, it was important to set up long-term agreements with event promoters who were able to support these ambitious projects. We are therefore delighted with the signing of this three-year contract with the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit, which is the only facility in France which has both the prestige and the necessary infrastructures to host an event of this calibre. We would like to thank the entire organisation for the success of this event, which saw 22,000 spectators in attendance."
In 2005, the LG Super Racing Weekend round at Nevers Magny-Cours should take place during the second half of April, opening the new sporting season at the circuit.
