The European Formula Renault disputed it's seventh round on the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, one of the more beautiful circuits in the world, and the favorite of many drivers of Formula1. The two Argentinians of the Lincoln Sport Group, José María López and Esteban Guerrieri came here with great previous results in the Italian FR and the German FR respectively.
López, driver of the Cram Competition finished in second position on a even more complicate circuit because of rain fall before the race. However, the temperature at that moment was of 20ºC, which delayed the decision in the election of the tyres and the set up of the car. Finally ¨Pechito¨ choosed rain tyres for the race.
¨When I started I was fourth and inmediately I passed the third and second before finish the first lap; I lost to much time and Jani had already four seconds of distance. It was really hard discount and the track was getting more dry which complicate a lot my car with rain tyres¨ said López about his first race with wet conditions. With this result in Spa the argentinian is fourth in the championship with 78 points, 64 less than the leader Eric Salignon, who finished fifth in Belgium.
The other Argentinian present in Spa, Esteban Guerrieri, driver of the Jenzer Motorsport couldn`t complete a good result in the European championship. Guerrieri qualified 33º and he quit the race in the second lap after a touch with other driver that broke his direction.
¨I passed lot of cars in the start but a touch with other competitor
broke the direction of the car and I couldn`t finished the
race¨recognised Esteban who will have revenche next weekend in Salzburgo,
Austria for the German championship.
