Murchison OK after Eau Rouge crash
Christian MURCHISON, the 22 years old Australia Formula Holden Vice Champion in 2002 and DAMS FRV6 driver for the 2003 season get out unhurt from his impressive crash at the top of Eau Rouge Raidillon. The young Australian who was in the top 6 after 30 minutes of testing lost control of his car at 230 Kph and hit strongly the wall. MURCHISON who was shocked after the crash was immediately transported to the hospital for complete checking which did not reveal any trouble.
"I am very disappointed, said MURCHISON, I feel OK but the car has big damage. I do not really know what happened, I just lost control of the car after going over the kerb. The team is working very hard now to rebuild the car, we will be ready for qualifying tomorrow."
"it was a big shock for us when we saw the crash and how was the car, explains Vincent BEAUMESNIL, Team Manager. Christian immediately informed us with the radio that he was OK, this is the second major accident for him this season, I am happy to see that he is strong and healthy."
Jose Maria LOPEZ set the 3rd quickest time during this test session behind GOMMENDY and MELO. "I am happy with the car, this test was important as a work session and I am not worried about my position on the lap times and I look forward qualifying Friday. I was just behind Christian when he crashed, it was very impressive but the team told me just a few minutes after that he was OK."
Adam LANGLEY-KHAN was a little bit disappointed after this test session which was disturbed by a few technical problems due to the youth of the car which still needs development. The team is confident for qualifying to see Adam improving his best lap time.
