For his very new commitment in the new FRV6 championship, DAMS arrived in Barcelona with his International 3 cars team with high ambitions. Qualifying has brought satisfaction and frustration to the team. Jose Maria LOPEZ (Argentina) confirmed his level of performance seen in free practice by taking pole position in the 2 qualifying sessions. Even the 19 years old argentinian was in direct competition with Top experienced drivers as Gommendy, Matsuura or Jani, he has shown a great potential confirmed by the team "who has supplied to me a perfect car " declared LOPEZ.
Top Australian Formula Holden driver Christian Murchison who had been penalised by loosing a full day of testing following an engine failure in Albacete could not get back the time lost in such a competition. Christian took 10th and 12th place in qualifying "We know that it is a difficult week and competition, but you can be sure to see Christian higher in the classification in the coming races." declared his engineer Didier DUMONT.
Adam Langley Khan arrived at DAMS with the ambition of learning and improving quickly to reach the top of the hierarchy. "I must say that all the team has been very impressed by Adam. This kid (17 years old) is incredible - said Jean-Paul Driot,Team principal- his experience was very short and it was a big challenge to have Adam in the team, and today we are very proud to show to the Motorsport World that Adam , after only half a day of testing, was on the pace with the Top Teams. He qualifyed well although some technical problems disturbed the second session and finished his first race with no mistake. When you see that, you must think Adam has the potential to reach the Top Level."
Even DAMS was in a winning position with LOPEZ during the 2 races, he retired of both races following a contact with MELO in first race, engine failure in the second race.
C.MURCHISON crossed the final line twice on 9th and 11th positions . Adam LANGLEY KHAN finished 14th in the first race and retired after electrical problems in the sprint race.
