Challenge Show (C1) race weekend brings all-star line-up to Chengdu
Following in the footsteps of the very successful Super Challenge Show (C1) "One-Foundation" charity event in May 2008, FRD and Mr. Jet Lee's "One- Foundation" will bring the charity race weekend to Chengdu, Sichuan, the earthquake-shattered province on 12th & 13rd, September, 2009. C1 will feature five professional races, the signature Celebrity charity race, as well as the Super Tour/Track activity.
The Celebrity Charity race will certainly be one of the major focuses of the weekend and along with Mr. Jet Lee, FRD will bring an artist line-up which will blow your mind: Aaron Kwok, Sun Nan, Jordan Chan, Ka LoK Chin, Carlo Ng, Athena Chu, Anita Yuen, Emme Wong, Liu Hong Yin, Wu Jing will show up at C1 and compete in Celebrity Charity race.
The AFR championship will bring its international challenge to Chengdu International Circuit (CDIC) for the first time. Asia Racing Team (ART), March 3 (M3), Top speed racing team, team PTRS, Champ Motorsport and FRD racing team will bring young drivers from 10 different countries and regions. For the 2009 season, the teams and drivers have taken turns leading the points table. After Shanghai C1, Alon Day took back the lead with Luis SA SILVA, the young driver from Angola moved up very fast to 3rd.
Ford Formula Campus championship (FFC) will hold its 5th and 6th round in C1. FRD first started this entry level Formula championship in 1997. After bringing hundreds of excellent young formula drivers to higher level competition through the Formula Campus series, the championship is entering its 13th successful racing season. For the 2009 season, FFC is featuring a more international driver line-up. The only female driver in FFC, Diana Rosario, is now leading the points table.
FRD newly announced renowned one-make race Clio Cup China came to Mainland China for the first time in August and the fleet will travel to Chengdu with C1 race weekend with the newly-launched 2009 Clio III vehicles with updated race style. After the Le Mans Bugatti and Nuburgring races, the series will come to CDIC for the first time. In addition Aaron Kwok, the international superstar, will keep joining the competition.
ET.CHINA AGT Masters will also join the C1 weekend and it is no doubt the high-performance luxury GT race of the weekend. The ET.CHINA AGT Masters will bring an all-Ferrari line-up to the grid. Chengdu race fans will surely enjoy the competition from the F360 challenge and F430 GT3.
The Super Tour/Track activity is supported by the Road No.19 Club. The Club started in 2007 and successfully extended its member to 200 with more than 350 renowned super GT cars. The club will bring Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Viper, Aston Martin, Lamborghini etc.
"Radical cup in China" will show up at C1 again with a fleet of Radical SR3s and it will be the only endurance race of the weekend. Radical SR3 is a very famous and fascinating type of race car. Race fans will surely be excited to see the race.
