Race 1
Roman De Angelis took home the win for Brian Graham Racing in the first F1600 race of the weekend in the famed Summer Classic event. The top five competitors ran a close race, and up until the last lap it was anyone’s guess who would round out the podium. De Angelis finally took the win, while last year’s champion Jean-Philippe Jodoin of Britain West Motorsport and Dominic Legrand finished second and third, respectively.
American Trenton Estep endured a tough race. Having appeared late at impound following the qualifying session, Estep was penalized and was forced to start the race in 14th place. He also received a drive-through penalty in the early stages of the race for using the full width of the track for scrubbing his tires on the parade lap. He finished up the race in sixth position.
Race 2
Estep got revenge on Race 2, winning a caution-riddled race. The race was marred by three different full-course caution periods.
Estep managed to stay ahead and won the race from Jodoin and De Angelis. Veteran Didier Schraenen, Dominic Legrand and Ben Hurst rounded out the top six.
Race 3
Jean-Philippe Jodoin won race 3 after an incident for leader Trenton Estep on the final lap of the race. Roman De Angelis crossed the line in second place ahead of Didier Schraenen.
Estep looked en route for a second victory in a row when a mechanical failure on the final lap saw him fail to finish the race as his Spectrum was returned to the pits on the back of a flat bed. Jodoin – who started the race in second place - was the first across the line at the checkered.
