After Lance Stroll and Nick Cassidy shared wins on Saturday, Gunther lined up on pole for the final race of the weekend and brought it home for his third triumph of the season.

The biggest threat to Gunther's victory was off the line - and the German did enough to cover off teammate Cassidy and keep the lead.

For the rest of the race, the Prema duo would run around a second apart, and whenever Cassidy seemed to close in on Gunther, the poleman quickly restored the status quo.

After 23 laps, Gunther took the chequered flag 1.2 seconds ahead of Cassidy, securing Prema's third 1-2 of the weekend.

Rookie David Beckmann, who kept P3 after the start, couldn't hang on to Gunther and Cassidy, but was under little pressure from behind.

As such, the 16-year-old Mucke driver was able to claim his maiden podium in his fourth weekend in the series.

Alessio Lorandi bagged another strong result for Carlin with a fourth place, holding off George Russell, while Callum Ilott survived a late-race dip into the gravel to finish sixth.

Rookies Joel Eriksson, Ralf Aron, Ben Barnicoat and Anthoine Hubert made up the top 10.

The only major incident of the race involved Weiron Tan, who went off into the barriers with five minutes to go, resulting in double-waved yellows but no safety car as his car was removed.

Having been excluded from the relevant qualifying session, Stroll could not make up ground from the back and treated the race as an extended test, stopping in the pits to make adjustments.

His lead in the championship is now down to 56 points over Gunther.
